About the
Author:
Virginia Fugate is the wife of J. Richard
Fugate, author of the best-selling book, What the Bible Says
About Child Training. They have been married for 34 years
and have three grown children. Each of these children have given
great joy and blessing to their parents, including one grandson
apiece.
Virginia began to make notes on biblical womanhood about 15 years
ago. In 1978, she was asked by her pastor to teach a class to the
women of the church.
Over the years, Virginia's notes increased as she began to
comprehend that God's Word had all the answers to women's questions
about womanhood. She felt a strong leading from God to write a book
about biblical womanhood, but was hesitant because she understood
her responsibility before God for such an undertaking.
Finally, after much prayer, Virginia began to write--a task she
compares with perpetual childbirth. Three years later, with much
encouragement from her husband and help from several talented
friends, On The Other Side of the Garden was
completed.
Virginia's prayer is that this presentation of biblical womanhood
will honor her Lord Jesus Christ. She also prays that many families
are blessed as more and more women develop the courage to live
biblically in this modern world.
